My personal approach to design thinking is centered around communication and flexibility. Through the double diamond approach, I’m able to adapt a format that can help various industries and teams solve problems.   • during the Discover stage, we will focus on planning and setting clear objectives and hypotheses. Plans should be written out with clear milestones and plan-of-action. Brianstorms and workshops are highly encouraged at this stage early for alignment and ownership.

  • the Synthese phase takes time and thought. Depending on the scale of the project, some nights will naturally become clear quickly while others will require more review and addtional research.

  • centered around designing, the Develop stage can sometimes be most exciting. To me, it’s finally the chance to start solving the problem we’ve uncovered. This is where we begin to reimagine new services, experiences, opportunities and growth.

  • testing, testing, testing! Perhaps, the complex stage of the double diamond, the Deliver stage is where agility and excitement is in the fore-front! This is where my role as a researcher is grounding and can provide clarity as changes can happen quickly.

 
 

Every initiative starts with an opportunity for more learning and improvements. I call this Diverge Thinking, a phase where we can dig, research and understand the problem. Then we move onto the Converge Thinking, where we begin to scope and test our research. These can often be though about as mindsets and frameworks. They complement each other and concrete foundations for decision making and focus.

Understanding the entire approach.

My approach to Design Thinking can embody service design and UX. This will depend on the industry, organization, pain points and potential solutions. It’s meant to provide a holistic view when needed without leaving behind any blind spots. My goal is to always create innovation and opportunities through research, data and mapping.

By considering all three major segments, we can tackle big opportunities with growth and experience.
